Nessy's Note
When you’re looking for a way to turn Greek yogurt into a flavorful bowl without needing to add sweeteners, let me introduce you to one of my favorite tricks: defrosting and mashing frozen berries.
The berries mix right into the yogurt, creating a naturally sweetened yet flavorful base that is great with all sorts of delicious toppings (just like a matcha yogurt bowl is).
This quick, filling breakfast is as simple as it is tasty and is perfect for a busy morning.
Ingredients and Substitutions

- Greek Yogurt- Just like in my apple yogurt bowl, I like to use whole milk or 2% for the best flavor and creaminess but non-fat will work if that's what you prefer.
- Substitution: Any unsweetened yogurt (balkan, skyr, etc.) will work but note that the protein content and thickness will vary.
- Blueberries- I like to use frozen berries for this recipe because they are extra juicy when thawing (which helps to flavor the yogurt) plus frozen berries tend to be less expensive (I use frozen fruit in this blueberry banana protein smoothie as well). But if you have some fresh berries, by all means, you can use those!
- Substitution: You could try using any type of berry that you like to flavor the yogurt.
- Toppings- The fun part! I love pairing blueberry with almond butter plus some banana and seeds but whatever you like works. All of the toppings I use on a strawberry yogurt bowl would also be great here.

My Tips for the Best Blueberry Yogurt Bowl
- Don't be afraid to experiment with toppings. Try different combos until you find your favorite. My favorite combo is the one included in the recipe card!
- Use frozen berries. Though fresh will work, frozen blueberries are often more affordable, easy to keep on hand and when they start to thaw, they add delicious juice to flavor the yogurt.
